Preschool
At WCA, we envision a Liberia where every student, regardless of background or financial status, enjoys an education that propels them toward the opportunity-rich life they deserve.
We believe in the idea of a creative and interactive learning environment, an atmosphere where children essentially teach themselves; the teacher's primary responsibility is to create the appropriate environment for learning and provide the spark that allows the young mind to develop naturally. Given the ability to be mobile and learn from their surroundings rather than sit still and be lectured to, most children flourish under such a program.
We build the foundation of lifelong learning in the William Cummings Academy Preschool program. Students have diverse creative expression opportunities, problem-solving, teamwork, and inquiry: acquiring knowledge while building character and gaining values. Students are inspired to promote the Attitude of kindness, generosity, and gratitude. At WCA, students benefit from time and attention in small classes, encounter academic challenges and support, and build trust and respect with teachers.
Kindergarten
William Cummings Academy Kindergarten programs provide the broadest and most profound early learning experiences you will find anywhere in Liberia.
We believe world languages, science labs, and the arts are an absolute must for even our youngest students. With an average class size of 16 and a low student-to-teacher ratio of 8-to-1, every child gets more time and attention and more individualized challenges and support. More trust and respect are developed between students and teachers in this environment. Parent involvement in the learning process is encouraged, both at home and at school.
